Solar cup
The Solar Cup is a beach soccer tournament which is organized in Nieuwpoort ( Belgium) every year. The first edition was held on Sunday, the 2nd of august in 2009.
All the served beverages are being cooled with the help of solar energy. Also the sound installations, the amplifiers for the live bands and the lights are being fed by solar panels. There are also hotdogs available who are, off course, baked with the help of sunlight.
The winner of the First edition of the Solar Cup is Las Ovejas, a Spanish/Belgian team which left all other contestants far behind. Let’s see whether they are able to maintain their leaderships position next year..
